Over the years, we have found that some small collections struggle to find adequate veterinary provision, and could do with a little help complying with the often overwhelming requirements of the Zoo Licensing Act.
Despite the enthusiasm of local domestic animal practitioners it may not be feasible for them to justify the considerable cost of specialist training to cover non-domestic species and their experience of those species may be very limited.
