Founded in 1976, by the association of two practices involved in zoo animal medicine. Since then, the founding partners, David Taylor and Martin Dinnes have both retired, but the practice has gone from strength to strength. Based in the UK, IZVG works in the UK, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

The group work with zoos, parks and marinelands around the world, treating wild, rare and endangered species. Veterinary surgeons Greenwood and Lewis are recognised as Specialists in Zoo and Wildlife Medicine by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and vets Greenwood, Lewis and Thornton are UK government-appointed Zoo Inspectors. The practice employs a full time veterinary pathologist, Dr. Stidworthy and two veterinary assistants: Nicholas Masters and Johanna Storm.

In recent years, we have become increasingly involved in providing veterinary support for conservation projects around the world, including image of two zebras grazingNigeria, Cameroon, Paraguay, Mauritius, the Seychelles, Russia, Indonesia and the Caribbean Islands. Our work is closely linked with conservation charity Wildlife Vets International. John Lewis, Nic Masters and Andrew Greenwood have all worked on valuable projects helping protect endangered species in the wild. Specialist veterinary knowledge is vital to these projects, which we are perfectly placed to provide.
